The majority of these scrapbooks concentrate on the career of Ty Cobb. They contain newspaper clippings, newspaper and magazine photographs, box scores, game summaries, and telegrams. Items of note in vol. 1 (1908-1955) include a "thank you" note from Christy Walsh, an advertisment for Atlantic Bond Fine Paper, and a T206 Ty Cobb baseball card. Items of note in vol. 2 (1907-1916) include articles about Cobb's role in the play "The college widow", Cobb as sports editor for the day at a number of newspapers, telegrams relating to the births of his first two children, a pen and ink drawing of Cobb by Harold Watson, a 1906 postcard of the Detroit Tigers, an envelope simply addressed with a pen and ink drawing of a bow tie ("Ty") and a cob of corn ("Cobb") and Detroit, MI, and a signed menu from the November 15, 1928 Tokyo Writer's banquet. Volume 3, parts 1 and 2 (1905-1980, bulk 1921) includes articles about Cobb becoming manager of the Detroit Tigers in 1921, a "barnstorming" tour of 15 games on the West Coast, and newspaper photographs of Cobb's batting style.

Ty Cobb played for the Detroit Tigers (1905-1926) and the Philadelphia Athletics (1927 & 1928). He served as player-manager for Detroit from 1921-1926. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1936. Bobby Doerr played his entire career with the Boston Red Sox (c. 1937-1951). He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1986.
